EVIL, GOODNESS, AND CREATING ACTIVE BYSTANDERSHIP

September 22, 2026

4:00 PM ET

Our webinars are designed to increase participants’ knowledge of Holocaust history, explore and access classroom-ready content, and support instructional practice to promote student learning and understanding of this complex history and its lasting effect on the world.

How do we turn our students into "active bystanders" who respond to the need to help others and prevent or intervene against hate? Dr. Ervin Staub, a survivor of the Holocaust in Hungary, Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Founding Director of the Psychology of Peace and Violence program at University of Massachusetts Amherst, will channel his experience and give practical suggestions regarding evil, goodness, and creating active responders.
