FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS: THE KRISTALLNACHT POGROM: HOW AND WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

November 5, 2026

2:00 PM ET

Our webinars are designed to increase participants’ knowledge of Holocaust history, explore and access classroom-ready content, and support instructional practice to promote student learning and understanding of this complex history and its lasting effect on the world.

The November Pogrom, which the Nazis euphemistically called Kristallnacht - the Night of Broken Glass, was a turning point in the history of the Holocaust. But it didn't come out of nowhere. What was the lead-up to the pogrom itself? How and why did it happen? Explore these questions with Sheryl Ochayon, a Yad Vashem educator, in a program geared for students and teachers.
