*NEW* Teaching about Antisemitism After the Holocaust
 

CAS_graphicIn this new course, learn how to increase students’ understanding of the Jewish people and the impact antisemitism has had on the community through its continued evolution and persistence post-Holocaust, as well as how to equip youth to respond to and prevent antisemitism in our world today.

After completing this course, you will be able to teach about:

  • The diversity of Jewish life and culture in the world today.
  • How antisemitism has morphed in the modern era, including Holocaust denial and distortion, and demonization of Israel, and when it can relate to political, racial, or religious ideologies.
  • How to respond effectively and responsibly to antisemitism in one's community.

Includes three interactive modules; approximately 6 hours to complete in total. Receive a 6-hour certificate and an opportunity to complete an optional project to receive 4 additional hours. Graduate credit is available through the University of the Pacific.

Decoding Propaganda: Empowering Critical Thinking through Media Literacy

How can learning about the power of Nazi propaganda during the Holocaust help inform students in how they interact with today's media? In this course, examine propaganda deployed by the Nazis to discriminate against Jews and other minorities and gain tools to facilitate classroom discussions and support students to analyze media in today’s world.

After completing this course, you will be able to support students to:

  • Examine propaganda using media literacy skills.
  • Connect the lessons of the Holocaust with more current examples of hate propaganda. 
  • Understand the link between ideology and propaganda.

One interactive module, approximately 4 hours to complete in total. Receive a 4-hour certificate with an opportunity to earn graduate credit through the University of the Pacific.
