WHAT DID AMERICANS KNOW ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST?

August 9th, 2023

4:00 PM ET

Our webinars are designed to increase participants’ knowledge of Holocaust history, explore and access classroom-ready content, and support instructional practice to promote student learning and understanding of this complex history and its lasting effect on the world.

What did the average American know about the Holocaust as it was occurring? From The New York Times to small local newspapers, Nazi laws and violence against Jews were reported across the United States. Program Manager Jennifer Goss will lead attendees through our suite of new self-directed student activities, including one geared specifically to answering this crucial question of American knowledge, involvement, and non-involvement in the unfolding of the Holocaust.

Learn how to incorporate these themes into your lessons utilizing primary sources, videos, and student collaboration tools to engage and inspire action within our democracy today. This webinar connects with the Echoes & Reflections Complicity and Responsibility Unit and Student Activities.
